7.1. Installation Instructions for Mac and PC

What is the our Remote Monitoring (RMM) Agent?

The RMM Agent is a small piece of software that sits quietly in the background of your computer. It doesn’t run updates, patch software, or actively manage your system unless you have the appropriate service plan or subscription. Instead, it simply adds your machine to our central dashboard so we can see important information such as:

• Hardware details (model, serial number, storage, memory, etc.)

• System health (basic status, uptime, last check-in)

• Visibility across devices (we can keep track of all your company’s machines in one place)

This visibility allows us to quickly identify machines, confirm specifications, and respond faster when you contact us for support.

Installation Instructions

Mac

1. Download the Mac installer here

2. Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder (file will be zipped).

3. Double-click the zip file to open it. This usually creates a folder called osx-agent-cit (or similar).

4. Open that folder and double-click the install.pkg file.

5. Follow the on-screen prompts:

   • Press Continue

   • Press Allow whenever prompted

   • Keep pressing Continue → then Install

6. Once the installation is complete, you’re all done.

Windows

1. Download the Windows installer here

2. Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder. It will be a zipped folder starting with Agent_CIT.

3. Double-click the zipped folder to open it.

4. Inside, find a file called Agent_CIT_xxxxx (with a long number).

5. Double-click this file to start the installer.

6. If asked “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” → click Yes.

7. That’s it — the installation completes automatically, and no further action is needed.

⚠️ Please note: there won’t be any confirmation message on screen when the installation completes. The installer windows will close by themselves — this means the installation has finished successfully.
